Mine Bus Driver (Shift Transport) – Permanent

You'll carry passengers safely around Midrand for a staff transport contractor, on time and by the timetable. It's a practical job: you'll see what you got done before you go home.

Home base is a staff transport contractor on the Midrand side of Gauteng. Overtime comes up in peak season and is paid.

• Count passengers and make sure nobody stands beyond the limit
• Drive fixed routes and keep to the timetable
• Inspect the bus before each trip: tyres, brakes, doors, emergency exits
• Check passenger tickets, tags or staff cards when boarding
• Handle breakdowns calmly and keep passengers safe until help arrives
• Keep the bus clean inside and report any damage

• Valid PrDP for passengers (P)
• Patient and friendly with passengers
• Clean driving and criminal record
• Valid Code 10 or Code 14 licence
• Medically fit

• Split-shift allowance on staff transport routes
• Tips and trip allowances on tour charters
• Paid passenger PrDP renewal
• Company uniform

• Talk about safety records in the interview. Bus companies want to hear about zero accidents and on-time runs.
• Mention the number of passengers you have driven and the vehicle type, like "65-seater" or "22-seater midibus".
