Job Description

A software development house in Ballito needs a developer who can take a ticket from idea to production. It's the kind of job where doing the basics well every day gets you noticed.

You'll be based at a software development house in Ballito. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps. Weekend work is on a roster, so you won't be on every weekend.

What your day looks like

Join daily stand-ups and sprint planning
Design database tables and write efficient SQL queries
Document how your features work for support and new developers
Deploy through a CI/CD pipeline on Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions or GitLab
Pick up tickets from the sprint board and estimate the work
Review teammates' pull requests with useful comments
Investigate production bugs using logs and monitoring dashboards

You'll need

Experience writing automated tests
You can explain technical choices to non-technical people
Good SQL and understanding of relational databases
A computer science or IT qualification, or a portfolio that proves you can build

Extra points for

Docker and Kubernetes experience
Cloud certification on AWS, Azure or Google Cloud
Experience in regulated sectors such as banking or medical schemes
