Job Description

Write clean code, review pull requests and fix what breaks at a fintech start-up in Centurion. If you learn fast and don't mind being shown things twice, you'll settle in within a few weeks.

The work is in Centurion, Gauteng, so you'll need a reliable way to get there every day.

The work, day to day

Investigate production bugs using logs and monitoring dashboards
Pair with junior developers to unblock them
Handle personal data safely, with POPIA rules in mind
Join daily stand-ups and sprint planning
Design database tables and write efficient SQL queries
Document how your features work for support and new developers

You'll need

Stable internet and a quiet workspace for remote days
You can explain technical choices to non-technical people
Solid Git habits: branches, pull requests and meaningful commit messages
Good SQL and understanding of relational databases
Experience writing automated tests
