Job Description

Write clean code, review pull requests and fix what breaks at an insurance company software team in Vanderbijlpark. Expect to be trusted with real work from your first week.

You'll be based at an insurance company software team in Vanderbijlpark. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps.

The work, day to day

Review teammates' pull requests with useful comments
Write, test and refactor code in your team's main language
Write unit and integration tests before you merge
Join daily stand-ups and sprint planning
Investigate production bugs using logs and monitoring dashboards
Build and consume REST or GraphQL APIs

You'll need

You can explain technical choices to non-technical people
A computer science or IT qualification, or a portfolio that proves you can build
Commercial experience in at least one of PHP, C#, Java, Python or JavaScript
Experience writing automated tests
Solid Git habits: branches, pull requests and meaningful commit messages
Stable internet and a quiet workspace for remote days
