Job Description

Parents at this private pre-primary school in Coega trust you with their children every morning. If you like clear targets and knowing where you stand, this is for you.

Home base is a private pre-primary school on the Coega side of Eastern Cape.

What you'll actually do

Feed, change and settle babies and toddlers on their routine
Observe each child and note milestones in their development file
Prepare simple, nutritious snacks and keep the kitchen hygienic
Clean and sanitise toys, mats and tables at the end of the day
Plan themes and holiday programmes with the principal
Chat to parents at drop-off and pick-up about how the day went
Run morning ring with songs, weather and counting

What you need

Clear Form 30 child protection check and police clearance
Experience caring for children in a group setting, even as a volunteer
Able to follow hygiene and safety routines without cutting corners
ECD Level 4 or Level 5 qualification, or currently studying towards one
Paediatric first aid certificate

Helpful, not essential

Experience with children with special needs
Montessori diploma or Reggio-inspired training
