Motor Mechanic (Independent Workshop) – Immediate Start

This used car dealership workshop in Johannesburg CBD needs a qualified mechanic who can handle services, repairs and electrical faults. If you learn fast and don't mind being shown things twice, you'll settle in within a few weeks.

The work is in Johannesburg CBD, Gauteng, so you'll need a reliable way to get there every day. Start is planned for the beginning of next month.

• Do wheel alignments and balancing on the alignment bay
• Road test vehicles before and after repairs
• Coach the apprentice on your bay through basic services
• Carry out scheduled services to the manufacturer's checklist and interval
• Update control unit software when the manufacturer releases a campaign

• At least 3 years as a qualified mechanic in a dealership or workshop
• Your own basic toolbox
• Motor mechanic trade test certificate (Red Seal) or occupational certificate at NQF 4
• Able to meet flat-rate or sold-hour targets
• Neat with customer vehicles: seat covers, floor mats and no grease marks
• Confident with diagnostic scan tools and wiring diagrams

• Automatic gearbox or DSG repair experience
• Brand-specific training certificates from a manufacturer academy

• Productivity bonus on sold hours above target
• Pay at or above the motor industry bargaining council rates
