Municipal Bus Driver (City Routes)

You'll carry passengers safely around Atlantis for a mine shift transport service, on time and by the timetable. If you learn fast and don't mind being shown things twice, you'll settle in within a few weeks.

Home base is a mine shift transport service on the Atlantis side of Western Cape. Most weeks are 45 hours, in line with the BCEA.

• Give tourists a friendly welcome and help with luggage on charters
• Handle breakdowns calmly and keep passengers safe until help arrives
• Pick up and drop off schoolchildren only at approved points
• Keep the bus clean inside and report any damage
• Inspect the bus before each trip: tyres, brakes, doors, emergency exits
• Follow speed limits strictly; buses are tracked
• Drive fixed routes and keep to the timetable

• Medically fit
• At least 3 years of bus or taxi driving
• Valid PrDP for passengers (P)
• Punctual for very early starts

• Experience on mine or staff transport routes
• First-aid certificate

• Tips and trip allowances on tour charters
• Paid passenger PrDP renewal
• Company uniform
• Split-shift allowance on staff transport routes

• Talk about safety records in the interview. Bus companies want to hear about zero accidents and on-time runs.
• Write "PrDP P valid until" with the date, right at the top of your CV. It is the first thing a bus operator checks.
