Municipal Bus Driver (City Routes)

Early starts, clear routes and people depending on you: a staff transport contractor in Kuruman is hiring bus drivers. If you turn up on time and finish what you start, you'll fit in quickly.

This post is in Kuruman (Northern Cape). Please only apply if you can travel there daily. Most weeks are 45 hours, in line with the BCEA.

• Give tourists a friendly welcome and help with luggage on charters
• Drive fixed routes and keep to the timetable
• Check passenger tickets, tags or staff cards when boarding
• Follow speed limits strictly; buses are tracked
• Inspect the bus before each trip: tyres, brakes, doors, emergency exits
• Write the trip log with times, kilometres and fuel

• Medically fit
• Clean driving and criminal record
• Valid PrDP for passengers (P)
• At least 3 years of bus or taxi driving
• Patient and friendly with passengers
• Valid Code 10 or Code 14 licence

• First-aid certificate
• Experience on mine or staff transport routes
• Tour coach experience with charters

• Company uniform
• Paid passenger PrDP renewal
• Split-shift allowance on staff transport routes

• Talk about safety records in the interview. Bus companies want to hear about zero accidents and on-time runs.
• Write "PrDP P valid until" with the date, right at the top of your CV. It is the first thing a bus operator checks.
