Job Description

When the network goes down at this financial services company in Cape Town CBD, you're the one who brings it back. If you like clear targets and knowing where you stand, this is for you.

You'll be based at a financial services company in Cape Town CBD. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps.

What your day looks like

Plan hardware refreshes and licence renewals with a budget
Apply monthly patches to servers and network devices
Handle access requests and keep records that support POPIA compliance
Run and test backups, and do regular restore drills
Document network diagrams and change records
Monitor servers, links and firewalls and act on alerts
Configure switches, VLANs, VPNs and firewall rules

What you need

Strong Windows Server, Active Directory and Microsoft 365 skills, or Linux for Linux posts
Clear change management and documentation habits
At least 3 years in systems, network or cloud administration
Scripting in PowerShell, Bash or Python
Solid TCP/IP, routing, switching and firewall knowledge

Helpful, not essential

Infrastructure-as-code with Terraform or Ansible
Azure Administrator (AZ-104) or AWS Solutions Architect Associate
ISO 27001 audit experience
