Night Shift Security Officer (Grade D) – Permanent

You'll control who comes in and out of an office tower in Kimberley, and log every visitor properly. Bring a calm head on busy days and you'll be fine.

This post is Kimberley-based, with most of your time spent at an office tower.

• Check visitors' IDs and capture them on the visitor app or in the gate register
• Open and close boom gates for residents, deliveries and contractors
• Patrol the perimeter on a set route and scan checkpoint tags
• Write every incident and shift change in the occurrence book (OB)
• Keep the guardhouse clean and the OB up to date for the relieving officer
• Test the panic button and radio when you come on duty

• Able to work 12-hour day and night shifts, including weekends
• Clear, neat handwriting for the OB and registers
• Physically fit for foot patrols
• Grade 10 minimum; matric preferred
• Speaks and writes basic English
• PSIRA registration at Grade C or higher, paid up to date

• Uniform, boots and winter jacket issued
• Paid night-shift allowance under the security sector rules
• Stable long-term site contracts
• Provident fund contributions

• Make sure your PSIRA fees are paid. A lapsed registration gets your CV thrown out, even if you have years of experience.
• List the types of sites you have guarded, like estate, mall or factory. Security companies place officers by site experience.
