Night Shift Security Officer (Grade D) – Experienced

Residents and staff at an office tower in Phalaborwa need to feel safe when they arrive; that is your job. It suits someone who likes knowing exactly what a good day's work looks like.

The site is in Phalaborwa; early starts mean public transport timing matters, so check your route before applying. You'll start with a short induction before working on your own.

• Keep the guardhouse clean and the OB up to date for the relieving officer
• Call the armed response or SAPS number from the call list when needed
• Search vehicles and bags leaving the site when company policy requires it
• Hand out and collect contractor access cards
• Patrol the perimeter on a set route and scan checkpoint tags
• Direct traffic and parking during school drop-off or big events
• Check visitors' IDs and capture them on the visitor app or in the gate register

• Clear, neat handwriting for the OB and registers
• Grade 10 minimum; matric preferred
• Physically fit for foot patrols
• Able to work 12-hour day and night shifts, including weekends
• Alert, polite and firm with the public

• Chance to be upgraded to Grade B with training
• Uniform, boots and winter jacket issued
• Paid night-shift allowance under the security sector rules

• Arrive for the interview in neat clothes with your certificates in a plastic sleeve. It shows the discipline they want.
