Night Shift Security Officer (Grade D)

You'll control who comes in and out of an industrial park in Pretoria East, and log every visitor properly. If you turn up on time and finish what you start, you'll fit in quickly.

This post is Pretoria East-based, with most of your time spent at an industrial park.

• Check visitors' IDs and capture them on the visitor app or in the gate register
• Direct traffic and parking during school drop-off or big events
• Hand out and collect contractor access cards
• Search vehicles and bags leaving the site when company policy requires it
• Open and close boom gates for residents, deliveries and contractors
• Watch for loitering, broken fencing and open doors during night patrols

• Able to work 12-hour day and night shifts, including weekends
• Physically fit for foot patrols
• Clear, neat handwriting for the OB and registers
• Clean criminal record
• Speaks and writes basic English

• Chance to be upgraded to Grade B with training
• Uniform, boots and winter jacket issued

• List the types of sites you have guarded, like estate, mall or factory. Security companies place officers by site experience.
• Make sure your PSIRA fees are paid. A lapsed registration gets your CV thrown out, even if you have years of experience.
