Nursery Worker (Seedlings) – Permanent

You'll pick, prune and look after crops on a vegetable farm near Phalaborwa through the season. If you turn up on time and finish what you start, you'll fit in quickly.

The site is in Phalaborwa; early starts mean public transport timing matters, so check your route before applying. Shifts rotate, so you'll need to be flexible about days and nights.

• Move irrigation pipes and check drippers for blockages
• Prune and thin fruit trees and vines to the farm's method
• Plant seedlings in rows at the spacing shown
• Fill crates or bins and carry them to the collection point
• Follow the re-entry times after spraying, as the signs show
• Keep your picking card or tag count for daily pay
• Wash hands and use the field toilets for food safety

• Careful with fruit, since bruised fruit is rejected
• Physically fit for bending, lifting and climbing ladders
• Follows farm hygiene and safety rules
• Willing to start at sunrise
• Able to work outdoors in heat, cold and rain
• Valid ID or work permit

• Have your bank details ready. Most farms pay into a bank account and will not start you without it.
