Job Description

Crops do not wait, and a commercial seedling nursery near Roodepoort needs extra hands this season. If you turn up on time and finish what you start, you'll fit in quickly.

You'll be based at a commercial seedling nursery in Roodepoort. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps.

What your day looks like

Pick fruit or vegetables at the right ripeness and size, gently
Move irrigation pipes and check drippers for blockages
Fill crates or bins and carry them to the collection point
Plant seedlings in rows at the spacing shown
Clean and store picking bags, ladders and secateurs

You'll need

Valid ID or work permit
Available for the full harvest season
Able to work outdoors in heat, cold and rain
Follows farm hygiene and safety rules
Willing to start at sunrise
Careful with fruit, since bruised fruit is rejected

Extra points for

Pruning experience on vines or fruit trees
Tractor or quad bike experience
Living on or near the farm
