Occupational Health Nurse (Mine Clinic) – Experienced

This is a registered nursing post at a private maternity unit in Worcester, with your own patient load and a say in the care plan. You don't need to be the loudest person in the room, just the one others can count on.

The work is in Worcester, Western Cape, so you'll need a reliable way to get there every day. Hours are mostly Monday to Friday, with the odd Saturday in busy months.

• Supervise enrolled nurses and nursing assistants on your side of the ward
• Give scheduled medication, including Schedule 5 and 6 drugs, and sign the register
• Take part in ward rounds with doctors and record the new orders
• Take handover at the bedside and plan care for your allocated patients
• Admit and discharge patients and explain medication and follow-up to families
• Run emergency trolley checks and respond to cardiac arrest calls
• Monitor vital signs, fluid balance and early warning scores, and escalate changes quickly

• Solid knowledge of medication safety and the Nursing Act scope of practice
• Nursing qualification via the R425 diploma or R174 degree route
• Current SANC registration as a Professional Nurse, with this year's annual fees paid
• Calm under pressure when a patient's condition turns quickly
• At least 1 year of post-community-service ward experience
