Occupational Trainer (Artisan Workshop)

Here your industry experience becomes lessons for the next group of learners, at a private higher education college in Epping. If you turn up on time and finish what you start, you'll fit in quickly.

The site is in Epping; early starts mean public transport timing matters, so check your route before applying. Hours are mostly Monday to Friday, with the odd Saturday in busy months.

• Keep attendance registers and learner files ready for SETA verification
• Run practical demonstrations in the workshop with safety briefings
• Develop lesson plans, case studies and assessment guides
• Give feedback on course materials so the next intake runs better
• Sit in on workplace visits to confirm learners are doing real tasks

• Own transport for training at client sites
• At least 3 years of working experience in the subject field
• Registered assessor, with moderator registration for moderator posts
• Computer literate in Word, Excel and PowerPoint
• Confident presenting to groups of 20 or more adults
• Relevant qualification at least one NQF level above the one you'll teach

• Experience with QCTO occupational qualifications
• Experience with learning management systems such as Moodle

• Holiday breaks between intakes at colleges
• Day-rate contracts with steady bookings
• Paid re-registration with your SETA

• Show your industry years separately from your training years; providers need both.
