Job Description

Stand in front of a class of adults at a manufacturing plant training room in Polokwane and make the work make sense. You'll work with a small crew, so being easy to work with matters as much as skill.

Home base is a manufacturing plant training room on the Polokwane side of Limpopo. Hours are mostly Monday to Friday, with the odd Saturday in busy months.

What you'll actually do

  • Keep attendance registers and learner files ready for SETA verification
  • Sit in on workplace visits to confirm learners are doing real tasks
  • Develop lesson plans, case studies and assessment guides
  • Give feedback on course materials so the next intake runs better
  • Run practical demonstrations in the workshop with safety briefings
  • Facilitate classroom and workplace sessions against the learning programme
  • Assess portfolios of evidence and write clear feedback to learners

You'll need

  • Good report writing and record keeping
  • Relevant qualification at least one NQF level above the one you'll teach
  • Registered assessor, with moderator registration for moderator posts
  • Computer literate in Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Confident presenting to groups of 20 or more adults

Extra points for

  • Experience with learning management systems such as Moodle
  • Experience with QCTO occupational qualifications
  • SDF registration and WSP/ATR submission experience

What you get

  • Day-rate contracts with steady bookings
  • Holiday breaks between intakes at colleges
  • Travel allowance or company car for site training
  • Paid re-registration with your SETA

Applying, step by step

  1. Read the "What you need" list above. If you tick most of it, go ahead and apply.
  2. Keep copies of these ready to send: assessor and moderator statements of results, certified copy of your identity document plus certified copy of your highest qualification.
  3. Fill in the short form below with your name and a phone number you actually answer.
  4. Watch for a call or WhatsApp from How2Apply over the next 8 working days.
