Offloader (Container Depot)

Delivery days start early in Bloemfontein, and a cement and brick yard needs you on the bay before the trucks roll. You'll work with a small crew, so being easy to work with matters as much as skill.

The work is in Bloemfontein, Free State, so you'll need a reliable way to get there every day. You'll start with a short induction before working on your own.

• Check goods received against the delivery note and flag shorts
• Ride with the driver and carry goods into customers' premises
• Strap and secure loads so nothing shifts in transit
• Sweep the bay and clear shrink-wrap after each loading
• Get proof-of-delivery notes signed and stamped at each drop
• Guide trucks reversing into the bay with hand signals
• Assemble or place furniture where the customer asks

• No criminal record
• Friendly with customers at the door
• Willing to travel on routes that return late
• Grade 9 or higher and able to read a delivery note
• Honest; you will be handling customer goods and cash-on-delivery slips
• Comfortable starting from 04:00 or working late loading shifts

• A Code 8 or Code 10 licence (a route to becoming a driver)
• Basic furniture assembly skills

• If you are learning to drive, mention it. Depots like to grow assistants into drivers.
• Say what hours you can start. Loading bays often hire the person who can be there at 04:00 without fail.
