Job Description

Delivery days start early in East London, and a parcel sorting hub needs you on the bay before the trucks roll. Expect to be trusted with real work from your first week.

The work is in East London, Eastern Cape, so you'll need a reliable way to get there every day. Overtime comes up in peak season and is paid.

What you'll actually do

Strap and secure loads so nothing shifts in transit
Offload containers by hand, counting cartons as they come off
Get proof-of-delivery notes signed and stamped at each drop
Assemble or place furniture where the customer asks
Load trucks from the load sheet in drop order, last stop first
Stack returns and empties neatly for the next count

You'll need

Grade 9 or higher and able to read a delivery note
Comfortable starting from 04:00 or working late loading shifts
Able to lift and carry heavy items all day
Honest; you will be handling customer goods and cash-on-delivery slips

Nice if you have

Past work as a driver's assistant
Basic furniture assembly skills

On offer

Route-completion incentives in busy months
Help to get your own licence through the company later
Uniform and safety shoes provided

How to apply

Read the "What you need" list above. If you tick most of it, go ahead and apply.
Keep copies of these ready to send: police clearance if you already have one plus clear copy of your ID with a certification stamp.
Fill in the short form below with your name and a phone number you actually answer.
If you're shortlisted you'll hear from us within 7 working days, usually by phone.

Your application joins the How2Apply talent pool for this role, and we put shortlisted people forward to employers hiring in and around East London.

How2Apply never charges you to apply, for training, for uniforms or for a "placement fee". If anyone asks you for money, it is a scam.

Tips to get shortlisted

If you are learning to drive, mention it. Depots like to grow assistants into drivers.
Say what hours you can start. Loading bays often hire the person who can be there at 04:00 without fail.
