Offloader (Container Depot)

You'll load and offload trucks at a container unpacking yard in Paarl so every delivery goes out full and correct. It suits someone who likes knowing exactly what a good day's work looks like.

This post is in Paarl (Western Cape). Please only apply if you can travel there daily. Weekend work is on a roster, so you won't be on every weekend.

• Sweep the bay and clear shrink-wrap after each loading
• Guide trucks reversing into the bay with hand signals
• Strap and secure loads so nothing shifts in transit
• Load trucks from the load sheet in drop order, last stop first
• Stack returns and empties neatly for the next count
• Ride with the driver and carry goods into customers' premises
• Check goods received against the delivery note and flag shorts

• Willing to travel on routes that return late
• Able to lift and carry heavy items all day
• No criminal record
• Friendly with customers at the door
• Grade 9 or higher and able to read a delivery note
• Honest; you will be handling customer goods and cash-on-delivery slips

• Speaking more than one local language for customer drops
• Past work as a driver's assistant

• Route-completion incentives in busy months
• Meal allowance on long-route days
• Uniform and safety shoes provided

• If you are learning to drive, mention it. Depots like to grow assistants into drivers.
