Order Picker (Cold Store)

This is steady, physical warehouse work at a spares and hardware warehouse in Kariega, and nobody minds if it's your first job. You don't need to be the loudest person in the room, just the one others can count on.

Home base is a spares and hardware warehouse on the Kariega side of Eastern Cape. There's a probation period of three months before the contract is confirmed.

• Wear thermal gear and rotate in and out of freezer zones on schedule
• Stack finished orders on pallets and stretch-wrap them tight
• Pick orders from pick slips or a handheld scanner, bin by bin
• Move pallets with a hand pallet jack to the dispatch lane
• Label boxes with the correct waybill and route sticker
• Keep aisles clear of plastic, cardboard and loose pallets
• Replenish empty pick faces from overstock racking

• Clean criminal record (most warehouses run a check)
• Grade 10 or higher; matric preferred
• Punctual, with reliable transport home after late shifts
• You can read product codes and count accurately
• Willing to wear safety boots, a reflector vest and gloves
• Happy to work shifts, weekends and public holidays in peak season

• Previous picking experience with a handheld RF scanner
• A valid forklift or reach truck certificate

• Staff canteen with subsidised meals
• Chance to be trained on forklift after probation
• Permanent appointment for reliable temps after peak season
• Safety boots, overalls and freezer jackets supplied
