Job Description

This microlender call centre in Johannesburg CBD needs a calm negotiator who can hear "no" without giving up. It suits someone who likes knowing exactly what a good day's work looks like.

Location: Johannesburg CBD, Gauteng. Applicants who already live in the area get looked at first. There's a probation period of three months before the contract is confirmed.

The work, day to day

Hand accounts over for legal action once internal steps are exhausted.
Send written arrangements by SMS or email straight after each call.
Negotiate payment arrangements and set up DebiCheck mandates.
Keep calls within the National Credit Act and the Debt Collectors Act rules.
Update debtor contact details from tracing searches.

What you need

Clear credit and criminal record
Matric
At least 6 months in collections, sales or a call centre
You keep your tone respectful even when the debtor is not
Registered, or willing to register, with the Council for Debt Collectors
Target-driven and comfortable with commission

What you get

Council for Debt Collectors registration paid for you
Structured weekday hours with only occasional Saturdays
Uncapped monthly commission on collected rands
