Outbound Collections Consultant (Retail Credit) – Entry Level

This municipal accounts office in Khayelitsha needs a calm negotiator who can hear "no" without giving up. It's the kind of job where doing the basics well every day gets you noticed.

Location: Khayelitsha, Western Cape. Applicants who already live in the area get looked at first.

• Keep calls within the National Credit Act and the Debt Collectors Act rules.
• Hand accounts over for legal action once internal steps are exhausted.
• Negotiate payment arrangements and set up DebiCheck mandates.
• Track broken promises-to-pay and follow up within 48 hours.
• Dial through your arrears book on the auto-dialler and confirm the debtor's identity.
• Record reasons for non-payment so the credit team can adjust policy.
• Report daily on rands collected, contacts made and arrangements set.

• You keep your tone respectful even when the debtor is not
• Clear credit and criminal record
• Target-driven and comfortable with commission
• Registered, or willing to register, with the Council for Debt Collectors
• At least 6 months in collections, sales or a call centre

• Experience on a collections system such as Debtmaster or a dialler platform
• Knowledge of the NCA and prescription rules

• Monthly incentives for the top three collectors
• Structured weekday hours with only occasional Saturdays
• Uncapped monthly commission on collected rands
• Council for Debt Collectors registration paid for you

• Show your collection results as numbers (for example "collected R420 000 a month against a R350 000 target").
• If you are already registered with the Council for Debt Collectors, put your registration number near the top of your CV.
