Packaging Line Operator (Rotating Shifts) – Immediate Start

Machines set the pace at this plastic moulding plant in Ballito; you keep up and catch the faults. This role rewards consistency more than flash.

This post is Ballito-based, with most of your time spent at a plastic moulding plant. The first two weeks are spent shadowing someone experienced.

• Check product for size, weight and seal faults and pull out rejects
• Pack finished product into cases and stack them by batch number
• Hand over at shift change with notes on rejects and stoppages
• Change over packaging film and labels when the line switches product
• Move full bins and crates to the next station with a trolley

• Able to stand for a full shift in a noisy, warm area
• You follow hygiene rules without being reminded
• No problem wearing full PPE, including ear protection
• Basic reading and counting for batch sheets
• Neat, reliable and on time for shift start

• Experience assisting on a packaging or filling machine
• NQF Level 2 manufacturing learnership completed
• A food handler or basic HACCP awareness certificate

• Staff shop with discounted factory products
• Free PPE, overalls and hairnets
• Night-shift allowance on top of basic pay
• Path to machine operator after six months

• Mention that you can work rotating shifts right at the top. It is the first thing most factories filter on.
• Do not wear jewellery or long nails to the interview if it is on site. Food factories notice and it counts.
