Job Description

Here in Rosslyn, a plastic moulding plant needs steady people who can repeat a task well for eight hours. You don't need to be the loudest person in the room, just the one others can count on.

  • Weigh ingredients or additives against the recipe card
  • Clean down machines and floors at the end of each run
  • Check product for size, weight and seal faults and pull out rejects
  • Pack finished product into cases and stack them by batch number

What you need

  • Able to stand for a full shift in a noisy, warm area
  • Available for rotating day and night shifts
  • Grade 10 minimum, matric an advantage

  • Previous work in a food or FMCG factory
  • Some basic first-aid training

What's in it for you

  • Free PPE, overalls and hairnets
  • Staff shop with discounted factory products
  • Path to machine operator after six months

How to apply

  1. Read the "What you need" list above. If you tick most of it, go ahead and apply.
  2. Get these ready, because shortlisted people are asked for them straight away: food handler or HACCP certificate if you have one plus your latest school results or matric certificate.

  4. If you're shortlisted you'll hear from us within 10 working days, usually by phone.

How2Apply recruits for this position on behalf of hiring employers around Rosslyn; applications go into our talent pool and shortlisted candidates are introduced directly.

How2Apply never charges you to apply, for training, for uniforms or for a "placement fee". If anyone asks you for money, it is a scam.

Tips to get shortlisted

  • Name the products you worked on before, like "biscuit line" or "juice bottling". Factory recruiters read that faster than a job title.
  • Do not wear jewellery or long nails to the interview if it is on site. Food factories notice and it counts.
