Packhouse Quality Controller (Seasonal) – Fixed-Term

Quick hands and good eyes are all an avocado packhouse near Brackenfell really needs from you. Someone who likes a bit of variety, but also likes doing things the right way, will enjoy this.

Home base is an avocado packhouse on the Brackenfell side of Western Cape. Overtime comes up in peak season and is paid.

• Sort fruit by size, colour and blemish on the packing line
• Build pallets to the correct height and strap them
• Pack cartons to the export pattern and weight
• Stack empty cartons and punnets ready for the next run
• Check fruit samples and record quality results on the QC sheet
• Help clean the line and machines at the end of the day
• Follow food safety rules like hand washing and no jewellery

• Available for the full packing season including Saturdays
• Able to stand at a line for long shifts
• Arrives on time for early shifts
• Valid ID or permit
• Follows hygiene rules at all times

• Transport from nearby towns
• Protective clothing supplied
• Overtime pay during peak weeks
• Rehire for next season if you perform well

• If you want a QC post, bring your matric certificate and say you can write neat records.
• Apply before the season starts, often a month before first harvest. Recruiting days fill up fast.
