Paint Shop Operator (Vehicle Manufacturing) – Fixed-Term

You'll build parts or whole vehicles on a moving line at the exhaust and catalytic converter plant in Durban Central. It suits someone who likes knowing exactly what a good day's work looks like.

Location: Durban Central, KwaZulu-Natal. Applicants who already live in the area get looked at first. Weekend work is on a roster, so you won't be on every weekend.

• Rotate between stations as the team leader plans
• Take part in kaizen ideas to improve your station
• Check parts for defects before they go into the vehicle
• Wear the correct PPE, including gloves, glasses and ear protection
• Assemble components at your station within the line cycle time
• Pull the andon cord when a defect or safety issue appears

• Lives close enough to reach the plant on time for every shift
• Able to pass a basic literacy and numeracy test
• Good eyesight and hand coordination
• Can follow written and visual work instructions
• Able to stand for a full shift and do repeat tasks without losing focus

• Previous experience in an automotive plant
• Basic computer skills
• Forklift licence for material handling
