Paint Shop Operator (Vehicle Manufacturing)

You'll build parts or whole vehicles on a moving line at the exhaust and catalytic converter plant in Germiston. Bring a calm head on busy days and you'll be fine.

You'll be based at an exhaust and catalytic converter plant in Germiston. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps. You'll start with a short induction before working on your own.

• Record production counts and scrap on the shift board
• Pull the andon cord when a defect or safety issue appears
• Load and unload robotic welding cells safely
• Wear the correct PPE, including gloves, glasses and ear protection
• Follow standard work sheets and quality checkpoints at every step
• Check parts for defects before they go into the vehicle

• Can follow written and visual work instructions
• Able to pass a basic literacy and numeracy test
• Able to stand for a full shift and do repeat tasks without losing focus
• Good eyesight and hand coordination
• Grade 12 certificate

• Basic computer skills
• Previous experience in an automotive plant
• Forklift licence for material handling
