Painter (New Builds & Refurbishments)

Put your trade to work on the housing development site in Potchefstroom, with steady work for the length of the project. It's a practical job: you'll see what you got done before you go home.

Home base is a housing development site on the Potchefstroom side of North West. Most weeks are 45 hours, in line with the BCEA.

• Plaster walls and float them to a smooth, even finish
• Tile floors, showers and splashbacks, including cutting around fittings
• Fix roof trusses, purlins and brandering for ceilings
• Build and strip formwork for columns, beams and slabs
• Wear your hard hat, boots and harness wherever the foreman says
• Lay face brick and plaster brick to line, level and plumb
• Clean your tools and sweep your work area before knocking off

• Willing to move between sites in the same city
• Able to follow a foreman's instructions and read basic measurements
• Understands basic site safety like scaffolds and open trenches
• Physically strong enough for a full day of lifting and bending outside

• Experience on NHBRC-registered housing projects
• Trade test in bricklaying, carpentry or plastering

• PPE supplied: hard hat, gloves, reflective vest
• Weekly or fortnightly pay, always on time
• Chance to move up to a gang leader post

• Be ready to do a short practical test on site. Arrive early with your own tools if you have them.
• Bring photos of your work on your phone. A foreman believes a straight wall more than a long CV.
