Painter's Assistant (Renovations) – Entry Level

Hard outdoor work on a school building project in Brackenfell, with a chance to learn a trade while you earn. You'll work with a small crew, so being easy to work with matters as much as skill.

Location: Brackenfell, Western Cape. Applicants who already live in the area get looked at first. Overtime comes up in peak season and is paid.

• Dig trenches and foundations to the depth the foreman marks
• Erect and strip shutters and simple scaffolding under supervision
• Help offload deliveries of steel, timber and pipes
• Carry bricks, blocks and cement bags to where the bricklayers work
• Compact soil and layer bedding sand with a plate compactor
• Cut and lay paving bricks along string lines

• Willing to start early, often at 06:30
• Prepared to travel between sites in the area
• Physically strong and fit for outdoor work in all weather
• Able to follow instructions from a foreman or artisan
• You take safety rules seriously and wear full PPE

• Learn from artisans with a chance to move up to assistant
• Overtime on weekend pours and deadline days
• Paid weekly or fortnightly
• Boots, hard hat and overalls issued on site

• If a foreman can vouch for you, put their number on your CV. Site hiring runs on word of mouth.
• List past sites by name and what you did there, like "mixed concrete, laid kerbs". It proves you have done real site work.
