Job Description

Hard outdoor work on a low-cost housing development in Umhlanga, with a chance to learn a trade while you earn. It's the kind of job where doing the basics well every day gets you noticed.

This post is in Umhlanga (KwaZulu-Natal). Please only apply if you can travel there daily. Overtime comes up in peak season and is paid.

What you'll actually do

Compact soil and layer bedding sand with a plate compactor
Pass tools and materials to the plumber or electrician as needed
Help offload deliveries of steel, timber and pipes
Dig trenches and foundations to the depth the foreman marks
Clean tools, mixers and wheelbarrows at the end of each day

You'll need

Grade 8 or higher
A clean record is preferred for some government sites
Prepared to travel between sites in the area
You take safety rules seriously and wear full PPE
