Palletiser (Export Packhouse)

You'll sort, grade and pack fruit for export at a citrus packhouse near Bellville. You don't need to be the loudest person in the room, just the one others can count on.

This post is in Bellville (Western Cape). Please only apply if you can travel there daily.

• Pack cartons to the export pattern and weight
• Stick labels and batch codes on each carton
• Sort fruit by size, colour and blemish on the packing line
• Check fruit samples and record quality results on the QC sheet
• Build pallets to the correct height and strap them
• Follow food safety rules like hand washing and no jewellery

• Quick and neat with your hands
• Valid ID or permit
• Follows hygiene rules at all times
• Basic counting and reading for labels
• Arrives on time for early shifts
• Able to stand at a line for long shifts

• Matric for QC posts
• Previous packhouse work

• Rehire for next season if you perform well

• Apply before the season starts, often a month before first harvest. Recruiting days fill up fast.
• Mention the fruit you have packed before and how many seasons. Packhouses rehire the fast, careful packers.
