Part-Time Bookkeeper (Small Business)

Every invoice, payment and bank line at this motor dealership in Secunda goes through your hands. This is a good step for someone who wants proper routine and a manager who notices good work.

Home base is a motor dealership on the Secunda side of Mpumalanga. Most weeks are 45 hours, in line with the BCEA.

• Prepare VAT201 workings for the accountant to submit on SARS eFiling
• Post month-end journals for accruals, prepayments and depreciation
• Keep the filing system in order for the annual audit or review
• Capture supplier invoices and customer receipts on Sage or Xero
• Reconcile creditors statements and sort out differences with suppliers

• At least 2 years of hands-on bookkeeping or clerk work
• Matric with Accounting
• Good with Excel: VLOOKUP, pivot tables and simple formulas
• Understanding of VAT input and output rules
• Bookkeeping certificate or diploma (ICB, FASSET learnership or similar)
• Accurate with figures and careful with supplier bank details

• Registered with SAIPA or the ICB as a bookkeeper
• Experience with debt collection letters and handover to attorneys
• Experience with inventory costing in a trading business

• Thirteenth cheque at many small firms
• Hybrid work after probation at some practices
• Office hours with no weekend work
