Parts Interpreter (Counter & Workshop) – Immediate Start

You'll be the link between customers and the workshop at the multi-brand service centre in Potchefstroom. Good for someone who wants to build a solid track record they can put on their CV.

This post is in Potchefstroom (North West). Please only apply if you can travel there daily. You'll start with a short induction before working on your own.

• Pick, pack and issue parts to technicians against job cards
• Book in vehicles, walk around with the customer and note existing damage
• Count stock during cycle counts and year-end stocktake
• Invoice completed jobs and explain the invoice at collection
• Submit warranty claims with photos and technician reports
• Order stock and special parts, and follow up on back orders
• Look up part numbers in the electronic parts catalogue using the VIN

• Calm and polite with customers, even when they are upset
• Code 08 licence
• At least 2 years as a service advisor, parts interpreter or in a similar counter role
• Good working knowledge of car parts and basic vehicle systems
• Matric, plus a motor industry background

• Brand-specific warranty system training
• Some mechanical training or a trade background

• Monthly CSI bonus for customer ratings
• Company uniform
• Paid brand training
• Commission on parts sales or workshop turnover

• If your customer satisfaction scores were good, give the score. It is the number dealers watch most.
• For parts jobs, say how quickly you can find a part using the VIN. Some interviews include a quick lookup test.
