Patient Accounts Officer (Private Hospital)

You'll keep the front of a radiology group in Coega organised so the doctors can focus on patients. You'll work with a small crew, so being easy to work with matters as much as skill.

Home base is a radiology group on the Coega side of Eastern Cape. Weekend work is on a roster, so you won't be on every weekend.

• Code consultations and procedures with ICD-10 and CCSA or NHRPL tariffs
• Send monthly statements and age the debtors book
• Submit claims electronically and work through the rejection report daily
• Open patient files and capture consent forms in line with POPIA
• Check medical aid membership and benefits before each consultation
• Answer the phones and send clinical questions to the right nurse or doctor
• Chase short payments with medical schemes and patients

• You keep patient information private, every time
• Confident with Excel and email
• Matric
• Friendly on the phone and firm about outstanding accounts
• Sound knowledge of ICD-10 coding and medical aid tariff codes

• Experience with hospital case management and pre-auth
• Understanding of how HPCSA practitioner and BHF practice numbers are used on claims

• Parking on site

• Name the billing software you know in your CV headline; practices want someone who needs no system training.
