Patrol Officer (Warehouse Perimeter) – Immediate Start

The gate at a distribution warehouse in Kuruman is the first line of safety, and you would be standing at it. Expect to be trusted with real work from your first week.

The work is in Kuruman, Northern Cape, so you'll need a reliable way to get there every day. Overtime comes up in peak season and is paid.

• Watch for loitering, broken fencing and open doors during night patrols
• Call the armed response or SAPS number from the call list when needed
• Open and close boom gates for residents, deliveries and contractors
• Hand out and collect contractor access cards
• Keep the guardhouse clean and the OB up to date for the relieving officer
• Test the panic button and radio when you come on duty

• Speaks and writes basic English
• Physically fit for foot patrols
• Grade 10 minimum; matric preferred
• Able to work 12-hour day and night shifts, including weekends
• Clear, neat handwriting for the OB and registers

• Firefighting or evacuation training
• First-aid Level 1 certificate

• Paid night-shift allowance under the security sector rules
• Stable long-term site contracts
• Provident fund contributions
• Uniform, boots and winter jacket issued

• List the types of sites you have guarded, like estate, mall or factory. Security companies place officers by site experience.
• Make sure your PSIRA fees are paid. A lapsed registration gets your CV thrown out, even if you have years of experience.
