Job Description

Strong, willing hands are wanted on a shopping centre renovation in Polokwane. If you turn up on time and finish what you start, you'll fit in quickly.

Home base is a shopping centre renovation on the Polokwane side of Limpopo. Overtime comes up in peak season and is paid.

What you'll actually do

Mix concrete and mortar by hand or with a small mixer
Set up barriers, cones and signs around open trenches
Compact soil and layer bedding sand with a plate compactor
Clean tools, mixers and wheelbarrows at the end of each day
Erect and strip shutters and simple scaffolding under supervision
Pass tools and materials to the plumber or electrician as needed
Dig trenches and foundations to the depth the foreman marks

You'll need

Able to follow instructions from a foreman or artisan
Physically strong and fit for outdoor work in all weather
Grade 8 or higher
Willing to start early, often at 06:30
You take safety rules seriously and wear full PPE

Nice if you have

Living near the site (many projects hire local labour)
Previous site work you can show with a reference
