Job Description

You'll mix, carry, dig and clean up so the tradespeople on a townhouse construction site in Richards Bay can keep building. This is a good step for someone who wants proper routine and a manager who notices good work.

You'll report in Richards Bay. Relocation is not covered for this one. Hours are mostly Monday to Friday, with the odd Saturday in busy months.

What you'll actually do

Dig trenches and foundations to the depth the foreman marks
Clean tools, mixers and wheelbarrows at the end of each day
Pass tools and materials to the plumber or electrician as needed
Cut and lay paving bricks along string lines
Help offload deliveries of steel, timber and pipes

You'll need

Prepared to travel between sites in the area
A clean record is preferred for some government sites
You take safety rules seriously and wear full PPE
Able to follow instructions from a foreman or artisan
Grade 8 or higher
Willing to start early, often at 06:30

Extra points for

A working-at-heights or scaffolding ticket
Some experience with a jackhammer, grinder or plate compactor
