Job Description

Every wall and slab on this road rehabilitation project in Roodepoort needs labourers, and the crew needs one more. People who do well here are steady, honest and not scared to ask when something is unclear.

Location: Roodepoort, Gauteng. Applicants who already live in the area get looked at first. There's a probation period of three months before the contract is confirmed.

The work, day to day

Sign the daily safety talk register before work starts
Set up barriers, cones and signs around open trenches
Clear rubble and load it into skips
Dig trenches and foundations to the depth the foreman marks
Help offload deliveries of steel, timber and pipes
Erect and strip shutters and simple scaffolding under supervision
Compact soil and layer bedding sand with a plate compactor

Must-haves

Grade 8 or higher
A clean record is preferred for some government sites
You take safety rules seriously and wear full PPE
Physically strong and fit for outdoor work in all weather
