Payroll Officer (VIP Payroll) – Fixed-Term

A labour-heavy mining contractor in Mamelodi needs a payroll person who never misses a cut-off. You'll work with a small crew, so being easy to work with matters as much as skill.

This post is in Mamelodi (Gauteng). Please only apply if you can travel there daily. Hours are mostly Monday to Friday, with the odd Saturday in busy months.

• Run weekly and monthly payrolls and check the variance reports
• Release the salary bank file for authorisation
• Capture new hires, terminations, increases and deductions before cut-off
• Submit monthly EMP201 returns and pay PAYE, UIF and SDL on eFiling
• Declare UIF on uFiling and help staff with UI-19 forms
• Calculate leave pay, notice pay and final pay under the BCEA
• Process garnishee orders and third-party deductions

• Matric plus a payroll certificate or diploma
• Comfortable with Excel reconciliations
• Experience on Sage 300 People, VIP, PaySpace or SimplePay
• Sound knowledge of PAYE, UIF, SDL and the BCEA
• You keep salary information private under POPIA

• Knowledge of employment equity and WSP reporting
• SAPP registration as a Payroll Practitioner
• Experience with medical aid and pension fund reconciliations
