Pharmacist's Assistant (Basic, Retail Pharmacy) – Entry Level

Accuracy is everything in this community retail pharmacy in Polokwane; one checked label at a time. Good for someone who wants to build a solid track record they can put on their CV.

You'll report in Polokwane. Relocation is not covered for this one. There's a probation period of three months before the contract is confirmed.

• Prepare monthly chronic packs for collection or courier delivery
• Receive stock, check expiry dates and pack shelves first-expiry-first-out
• Help customers choose over-the-counter and front-shop products
• Record cold-chain fridge temperatures twice a day
• Explain dosage, storage and side effects to patients in plain language
• Capture scripts on the dispensing system and check them against medical aid rules

• Understanding of medical aid claim codes and PMB chronic rules
• Matric with Maths or Maths Literacy
• Accurate with numbers and careful with labels
• Working knowledge of a dispensing system such as Unisolv, Proscript or Healthbridge-linked software
• Friendly and clear at a busy counter
• Able to work Saturdays and some Sundays on a rotation
