Job Description

Accuracy is everything in this private hospital dispensary in Kariega; one checked label at a time. It suits someone who likes knowing exactly what a good day's work looks like.

This post is in Kariega (Eastern Cape). Please only apply if you can travel there daily.

What your day looks like

  • Help customers choose over-the-counter and front-shop products
  • Prepare monthly chronic packs for collection or courier delivery
  • Do cycle counts and flag stock discrepancies to the responsible pharmacist
  • Record cold-chain fridge temperatures twice a day
  • Log Schedule 5 and 6 items in the register as they go out
  • Receive stock, check expiry dates and pack shelves first-expiry-first-out

What you need

  • Working knowledge of a dispensing system such as Unisolv, Proscript or Healthbridge-linked software
  • Friendly and clear at a busy counter
  • Able to work Saturdays and some Sundays on a rotation
  • Understanding of medical aid claim codes and PMB chronic rules
  • Accurate with numbers and careful with labels

On offer

  • Sponsored Post-Basic studies for Basic assistants
  • Staff discount on pharmacy and front-shop items
  • Fixed rota published a month ahead
  • Paid SAPC registration fees at some groups

How to apply

  1. Check you meet the must-haves first; recruiters filter on those before anything else.
  2. Get these ready, because shortlisted people are asked for them straight away: certified matric certificate plus SAPC registration certificate and proof of this year's fees.
  3. Send your details with the form below. Add one or two lines about similar work you've done.
  4. Watch for a call or WhatsApp from How2Apply over the next 9 working days.

Your application joins the How2Apply talent pool for this role, and we put shortlisted people forward to employers hiring in and around Kariega.

How to stand out

  • Write "SAPC Post-Basic" or "SAPC Basic" right next to your name on the CV; this is the first filter.
  • If you're still a learner, give the name of your training pharmacy and your expected completion date.
