Pharmacist's Assistant Learner (Learnership)

Work under a registered pharmacist at a community retail pharmacy in Middelburg (MP) and keep the dispensary running smoothly. You don't need to be the loudest person in the room, just the one others can count on.

You'll report in Middelburg (MP). Relocation is not covered for this one. Weekend work is on a roster, so you won't be on every weekend.

• Explain dosage, storage and side effects to patients in plain language
• Process medical aid claims and fix rejections before the patient leaves
• Help customers choose over-the-counter and front-shop products
• Pick, count and label medicine for the pharmacist's final check
• Receive stock, check expiry dates and pack shelves first-expiry-first-out
• Capture scripts on the dispensing system and check them against medical aid rules
• Prepare monthly chronic packs for collection or courier delivery

• Working knowledge of a dispensing system such as Unisolv, Proscript or Healthbridge-linked software
• SAPC registration as a Pharmacist's Assistant (Basic or Post-Basic)
• Understanding of medical aid claim codes and PMB chronic rules
• Matric with Maths or Maths Literacy
• Able to work Saturdays and some Sundays on a rotation
• Accurate with numbers and careful with labels
