Job Description

Work under a registered pharmacist at a courier chronic medication pharmacy in George and keep the dispensary running smoothly. Expect to be trusted with real work from your first week.

Location: George, Western Cape. Applicants who already live in the area get looked at first.

What your day looks like

Pick, count and label medicine for the pharmacist's final check
Explain dosage, storage and side effects to patients in plain language
Prepare monthly chronic packs for collection or courier delivery
Log Schedule 5 and 6 items in the register as they go out
Capture scripts on the dispensing system and check them against medical aid rules
Process medical aid claims and fix rejections before the patient leaves
Help customers choose over-the-counter and front-shop products

You'll need

Accurate with numbers and careful with labels
Friendly and clear at a busy counter
Understanding of medical aid claim codes and PMB chronic rules
SAPC registration as a Pharmacist's Assistant (Basic or Post-Basic)
Able to work Saturdays and some Sundays on a rotation

Extra points for

Wound care or family planning counselling short course
Registered for the Post-Basic qualification if you currently hold Basic
