Pharmacist's Assistant (Post-Basic)

You'll help a courier chronic medication pharmacy in Pretoria East dispense scripts, manage stock and advise patients at the counter. Bring a calm head on busy days and you'll be fine.

This post is Pretoria East-based, with most of your time spent at a courier chronic medication pharmacy. You'll start with a short induction before working on your own.

• Do cycle counts and flag stock discrepancies to the responsible pharmacist
• Record cold-chain fridge temperatures twice a day
• Log Schedule 5 and 6 items in the register as they go out
• Prepare monthly chronic packs for collection or courier delivery
• Help customers choose over-the-counter and front-shop products

• Understanding of medical aid claim codes and PMB chronic rules
• Matric with Maths or Maths Literacy
• Able to work Saturdays and some Sundays on a rotation
• Working knowledge of a dispensing system such as Unisolv, Proscript or Healthbridge-linked software

• Experience in a courier or chronic medication pharmacy
• Wound care or family planning counselling short course

• Sponsored Post-Basic studies for Basic assistants
• Paid SAPC registration fees at some groups
• Fixed rota published a month ahead
