Pharmacist's Assistant (Post-Basic)

You'll help a community retail pharmacy in Prospecton dispense scripts, manage stock and advise patients at the counter. You don't need to be the loudest person in the room, just the one others can count on.

Location: Prospecton, KwaZulu-Natal. Applicants who already live in the area get looked at first.

• Log Schedule 5 and 6 items in the register as they go out
• Record cold-chain fridge temperatures twice a day
• Process medical aid claims and fix rejections before the patient leaves
• Explain dosage, storage and side effects to patients in plain language
• Prepare monthly chronic packs for collection or courier delivery

• Able to work Saturdays and some Sundays on a rotation
• Understanding of medical aid claim codes and PMB chronic rules
• Friendly and clear at a busy counter
• Matric with Maths or Maths Literacy
• Accurate with numbers and careful with labels

• Staff discount on pharmacy and front-shop items
• Fixed rota published a month ahead
• Paid SAPC registration fees at some groups
• Sponsored Post-Basic studies for Basic assistants
