Job Description

An e-commerce platform in Worcester needs a developer who can take a ticket from idea to production. It's the kind of job where doing the basics well every day gets you noticed.

This post is Worcester-based, with most of your time spent at an e-commerce platform.

What you'll actually do

Review teammates' pull requests with useful comments
Pick up tickets from the sprint board and estimate the work
Write unit and integration tests before you merge
Document how your features work for support and new developers
Join daily stand-ups and sprint planning
Build and consume REST or GraphQL APIs
Write, test and refactor code in your team's main language

You'll need

Experience writing automated tests
Commercial experience in at least one of PHP, C#, Java, Python or JavaScript
Stable internet and a quiet workspace for remote days
Good SQL and understanding of relational databases
A computer science or IT qualification, or a portfolio that proves you can build
Solid Git habits: branches, pull requests and meaningful commit messages

Extra points for

Knowledge of secure coding and the OWASP Top 10
Experience in regulated sectors such as banking or medical schemes
