Physical Sciences Teacher (Grades 10-12)

Teach at a rural combined school in Coega where your planning, marking and patience all count. It's a practical job: you'll see what you got done before you go home.

This post is Coega-based, with most of your time spent at a rural combined school.

• Supervise break duty, sport or a cultural activity each term
• Capture marks on SA-SAMS or the school's reporting platform before deadlines
• Meet parents to discuss progress, behaviour and support plans
• Set, mark and moderate formal assessment tasks for the term
• Use data projectors, smartboards or tablets where the school has them

• You can manage a class of 35 or more without losing control
• Clear record on the National Register for Sex Offenders and a police clearance
• A B.Ed, or a degree plus PGCE, in the phase and subject you'll teach
• Sound knowledge of CAPS and the assessment policy for your phase
• At least 1 year of classroom teaching, including teaching practice

• Mention the extra-murals you can run, as smaller schools often choose the teacher who can also coach.
