Physical Sciences Teacher (Grades 10-12) – Experienced

You'll plan and teach CAPS lessons that stick at an independent primary school in Klerksdorp. Good for someone who wants to build a solid track record they can put on their CV.

This post is Klerksdorp-based, with most of your time spent at an independent primary school.

• Use data projectors, smartboards or tablets where the school has them
• Give extra lessons to learners who are falling behind
• Supervise break duty, sport or a cultural activity each term
• Capture marks on SA-SAMS or the school's reporting platform before deadlines
• Prepare Grade 12 learners for prelims and the NSC exams
• Keep learner profiles and a tidy teacher file for subject advisers

• Clear record on the National Register for Sex Offenders and a police clearance
• A B.Ed, or a degree plus PGCE, in the phase and subject you'll teach
• Sound knowledge of CAPS and the assessment policy for your phase
• Full SACE registration (provisional registration only for student or newly qualified teachers)
• Good spoken and written command of the language of teaching
• At least 1 year of classroom teaching, including teaching practice

• Experience marking for the NSC or IEB
• Comfortable with Google Classroom or Microsoft Teams for homework

• School holidays in line with the school calendar
