Job Description

Animals do not take weekends off, and a sheep farm near Gqeberha needs caring, reliable hands. You'll work with a small crew, so being easy to work with matters as much as skill.

You'll report in Gqeberha. Relocation is not covered for this one. Weekend work is on a roster, so you won't be on every weekend.

What your day looks like

Feed animals the right ration at the right time
Keep water troughs and drinkers working
Collect eggs or check broiler house temperatures
Milk cows in the parlour following the milking routine
Follow biosecurity rules like foot baths and clean overalls
Clean pens, houses and milking equipment

What you need

Gentle and patient with animals
Reliable, since animals depend on you
Willing to work early mornings, weekends and public holidays on rotation
South African ID or a legal work permit
Able to live on the farm or close by

Extra points for

Basic farm maintenance skills
Animal health or AgriSETA short course
Supervisory experience for foreman roles

On offer

Milk or meat rations
Training in animal health
Farm housing on site
Production bonus on milk yield or growth targets

Applying, step by step

Make sure the role, the hours and working in Gqeberha really suit you before you apply.
Have the following on hand (clear photos on your phone are fine at first): references from previous farms, any animal health course certificates plus certified identity document.
Send your details with the form below. Add one or two lines about similar work you've done.
